Hearing

The Council made a preliminary decision to confirm the Scheme without modification at the Executive Committee meeting on 23 January 2025. The Scottish Ministers were notified of this decision. Subsequently the Scottish Ministers notified the council on 27 March 2025 that they would not be ‘calling in’ the Scheme (which would have led to Scottish Ministers holding a Public Local Inquiry) and directed the Council to hold a hearing to consider the Scheme prior to making a final decision.

​The Council appointed an independent reporter (“the Reporter”) to conduct the hearing and issue a report with their recommendations for consideration by the Council. In addition the Council have appointed a programme officer to assist the Reporter in conducting the hearing.

The hearing is anticipated to commence on 28 January 2026 and will be held in Falkirk Stadium. The hearing will not be broadcast live although it will be recorded, with a copy of the recording available on this website. Objectors who have indicated they wish to participate in the hearing will be invited to attend the hearing. There will be limited seating available for members of the public who wish to attend.
