The Council appointed an independent reporter (“the Reporter”), to conduct the hearing to examine the justification for the Scheme together with outstanding objections and to prepare a report with their recommendations for consideration by the Council.

A hearing under Schedule 2 Part 8 of the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009 was held at Falkirk Stadium on 28 January 2026 to consider the justification for the Scheme and the outstanding objections.

Following conclusion of the hearing, the Reporter subsequently issued their report to Falkirk Council outlining their recommendations and reasoning based on the evidence presented and discussed during the hearing itself.
